Hi! I’m Maddie-

A freelance illustrator with a passion for KidLit!

About Me:

I'm all about celebrating diversity through my art, especially when it comes to representing those often overlooked. Any given day you will find me sketching away, with a mission to shine a light on the beauty of our differences. I believe children’s books serve as learning tools, and should cover topics such as disabilities, foster care, grief, and medical procedures to help kids understand themselves and the world around them.

Experience:

From illustrating characters with diverse appearances and abilities for children's books to creating educational resources that start important conversations, I've made it my mission to amplify voices and stories that deserve to be heard. I was able to focus my studies specifically on children’s book illustration and narrative art during my time at the Columbus College of Art and Design, and since graduation I have lead several projects that promote acceptance and serve as teaching tools.

Vision:

I believe every child deserves to see themselves in the stories they read, which is why I specialize in creating inclusive illustrations that celebrate our differences. I aim to foster empathy, understanding, and a sense of belonging in young readers!
